Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation (GEDI) is a Earth Observation mission from NASA and University of Maryland based on high resolution LiDAR (Laser Imaging Detection and Ranging) for monitoring 3D vegetation canopy.

Data is covered now by more than 7 milions of fullwave pulses.

Data freely available at https://gedi.umd.edu/.

geoLAB is actively working with this data to estimate forest variables useful to support sustainable forest management and mapping ecosystem services.
